Default Exhaust question on heads/cam car with Borla

Right now I'm running TTS Headers, ORP, and Borla cat back wide open. My question is right now the the car is really raspy and loud. Since the race season is over and bad weather is on the way, I want to quit the car down, but not lose all my power..

I have two options...

1. Put the cats back on, which is easy because I had them setup were I can take them in and out real quick..or
2. Put the biggest plate in the Borla and run it throught the muffler..

So my question is which would quite it down without loses a lot of power?? I like the sound with the cats on but the TTS cats are pretty restictive. Who has ran their exhaust throught a Borla muffler before, and how does it sound? How much power would I lose?

Thanks

GODUCKS,

Your website rules... "Ex Ho Page"!!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Now to answer your question. I'm in the same situation as you. Heads/Cam, Mac Headers, Off Road Y-Pipe, Borla. I run with the middle plate in the Borla. The power loss is miniscule.

I'm leaning towards just throwing the plates in and seeing what it sounds like...I would rather just leave the cats off

There is still some rasp, but not as bad as the wide open plate. I like the way it sounds, and I've learned to live with the rasp.

You could get a QTEC electric gate in the Borla and block it off whenever you want.

I just got rid of my Borla. I've had it for a few years and got tired of it. I just put Loudmouth on it, now it's loud as hell but the exhaust tone is at the rear of my car not under my *** like Borla.
I'm going to put a Borla XR-1 in place the Loudmouths resonator and a cut-out before the XR-1. I can't wait until it's done.

Peace,
Craig.
