AIR Pump Removal

AIR Pump Removal Will removing the AIR pump do anything besides throwing a SES code? The computer won't pull timing or anything, will it? I don't want custom tuning yet, but want to get rid of the pump. Thanks!
Re: AIR Pump Removal I am currently running without mine; althought I plan to re-install in as a PCV vacuum source so I don't get oil in the intake manifold. So, no there will not be any timing issues. I have heard that if you still have cats; they will fail sooner. That doesn't matter to me though. That will just be an excuse to buy long tubes and an x-pipe!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> Or at the very least; gut the cats and install O2 sims. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

Re: AIR Pump Removal if you have cats leave it on, but if not then you should be fine to pull it off but make sure you block off the holes on the exhaust manifolds so you dont get leaks, it will only throw a code but i have heard it will sometimes go away over time.

Re: AIR Pump Removal these are electric pumps so the only thing it will do is shave weight and make worse emisions (kinda) so if it is worth it (is to me) to get rid of the hum when you start it sometimes to then go for it
