How to port the throttle body

Re: How to port the throttle body
Well that's an option, but you could help out someone new to the board.
Porting the TB consists of removing the "ridge" that is in the mouth and polishing the surfaces. We have a few sponsors that will port you TB for you for less than $150.

Remove from the car and remove the TPS sensor and IAT (needs a torx as I recall).
A couple 60 grit sanding drums and a corded drill and you can sand down the ridge and blend it. Just don't sand by where the blade closes. Use a 150 drum to clean it up.
I also hand sanded with some 220 and then used my dremel and metal polish to make it smooth. Good for another .2 RWHP <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Shoot some brake or carb cleaner through it to get all the gunk off when you are done. Wipe clean and reassemble.

Re: How to port the throttle body
I think I am gonna go over mine again and try to make it smoother. How do I remove the throttle shaft?? I would like to remove the front part of the shaft like some of the professional pieces are done.
