power steering pump - trashed - help!
Do I neeed to bleed the new pump to remove air from the system after replacement? How?
Dealer cost is $236 and parts store is $101!
Does the parts store pump carry a warranty? If so get it, otherwise I would be very tempted to get the factory pump, or get one from someone here who has done away with their PS set-up.
I've replaced my rack a few times and for bleeding, only put seom new synth fluid in the pump, turned the pulley by hand a few times, while having someone turn the streering wheel, put the belt on and then cranked her up! Let ir tun for minute, turning the wheel back and forth and then turned it off and removed the cap. It'll !pop! off, and the fluid will be kind of foamy, just let it sit with the top off, and fill accordingly. Anyone see a problem with this method?!?! I've done it a few times and haven't had any issues. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying it worked!
