Default Ramps For Installing Headers!!!!

I know this is not external engine, but it does have to do with working on everything under on the engine!

Well I finally have the ramps done that I have been working on.
I was tired of putting the small ramps out only to fall short of what ever I was working on. So I had some aluminum channel laying around and cut it to size and WALA.
There pretty cool you drive all the way up to the front and the back of the car will come off the ground and level off, then you just stick floor jacks under the back so it can not come down.
From the top of the ramps to the ground is 2 feet!!! More than enough room to do headers he he he.
If yall want to make a set up let me know and I can send you the info or specs.

Dave

If you remove the back jack stands from the picture and then back the car up (slowly) the car will start to go down in the back and then you just back the rest of the way down.

I made them from some aluminum channel I had laying around.

Thanks, Dave

Looks interesting, wouldn't it be safer if you had a cross brace in the front and one about where the rear tires are?

If I were going to lift a tire or so up to work on something then maybe yes on the cross-brace but the parts you can't see are welded and boxed in to form a very rigid and square stand.
Trust me when I say before my car went on here and I went under it,I made sure all my calculations were correct!!

We have been having 42 MPH gusts all afternoon here. Both alarms are armed and not even a peep or a budge. I even had to take down our flag because the wind was bending the pole it is mounted to.

Thanks for the input, Dave

Here is another shot from the front. You can kinda see what I am talking about with the welded frame legs. All the legs come out with pins so it can be put away laying flat.

Cool idea! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> It looks good but like Al said...I would want a couple of braces connecting each side. Something removeable of course but at least something to keep them equal distanced while I was driving on and off.

If the braces were placed high enough, you could leave them on until ready to disassemble it.

One question though...why didn't you turn the channel upwards on the main part like you did the ramps? Seems like it would act like a guide and leave less to chance. I'm sure you're VERY carefull but hey, shlitz happens.
