Like the title says, is there anyway to just make the fans come on for a while or stay on the whole time for track use only? It seems there would be an easier way then to spend 70 bucks to have a switch.

I think with the hyper tech power programer you can, but i think thats like 300 plus dollars. Just go with the fan switch.

for 2001+ take wire from pin 42 on blue connector to ground through a switch. I spliced in and
ran the wire though the rubber grommet below
pcm to get inside the car.

pcm connectors

I have a 98, and how do you just need a switch and a wire? What wire do you cut and splice to the switch? Thanks for the help.

Where is this blue connector??????? Im guessing these are 2 different ways. These seem pretty vague. So from the blue connector pint 42 I take and put a wire in there, run it to one side of a switch, run another wire back to a ground anywhere and I can have the fans turn on whenever? Or do you have to go about it the long way listen in the site? Thanks alot

Stop playing a guessing game and buy the switch. You'll thank yourself later!!

For about $20 you can have a thermostatic fan switch that turns the fan on automatically so you aren't fumbling with a switch. Plus there is the added benefit of not having to run the wiring into the cabin of the car. This is what I have on mine. The free thermostat mod combined with my fan switch set to come on at 180* works awesome.

Thanks but I just got done, so you're a little late! Anyway went to radioshack and got a switch, had some wire at home. Took me a couple hours to figure it out but i just found that circuit breaker and put the wire down in it, then ran it inside and hooked the switch up to it then i took other other end of the wire under the steering wheel and found a hot red whire that is on all the time in a wire harness, so I just stuck the bare wire in there and used a very small screw to hold all of it in place, now I cant even pull it out if I try. Switch works fine, no problems at all, looks nice too. Total cost $2.00

LOL, I believe that fan switch write up was taken from one of my posts. Cool. If you use tap-in squeeze connectors on the wiring harness you can isolate the low and high speed fan wires and run into the cabin to a switch. This way you are grounding the relays like the pcm does, and you don't need a power source. If you want full time automatic control, then programming or a thermostatic control would be the better option.
I've got a write up and switch diagram in Excel if anyone needs it for clarification I'll send it to you. It's pretty easy.
