friends y pipe!

my friend just got a hooker y-pipe, and there are dents in it, it looks like they were made on purpose but we don't know wether they are on purpose or not. does anyone else have they y and see the same dents on the under side i think????? Also there is some pipe to connect the exhaust to the y i believe and it has a few dents in it please help me out.....

Just help install one the other day and it had the same thing. I thought it to be a little strange as well but I guess it's the way they're made.

That's the way it's suppose to be so it doesn't bang on the floorboard. The dents are fine since it's two 3in pipes merging into another 3in pipe, the dents won't add any noticable restriction.
