Ok, about to install my Hooker LT's Hey guys.. Ok, I'm about ready now to install my Hooker LT headers on my 2000 Z28. I have: Headers o2 simms o2 extensions EGR pipe from 98-99 LS1 AIR tubes from 98-99 LS1 Am I missing anything? What can I expect during the install? Any words of advice? Thanks! |
Re: Ok, about to install my Hooker LT's you do have a ypipe right? Other than that looks like you got the big stuff, better pic up a tube of anti seize for the bolts that hold the headers on. Other than that, i think you've got it all. |
Re: Ok, about to install my Hooker LT's Make sure you have a small 1/4 inch ratchet for the header bolts, especially the dreaded rear passenger bolt. Wear a long sleeve shirt unless you want the coil packs to shread your arm when tackling that bolt. Have something to cut the thin aluminum fuel line sheild. The front drivers O2 sensor won't clear it unless you cut a small piece away. I just cut a small "flap" so it still protects the fuel line. You have the EGR mod, right? Also, it helps to have an air wrench to remove the rusted bolts that attach the factory Y to the manifolds. Just remove the O2 sensors first, so you don't shatter the sensors when banging on those bolts, like I did. Almost forgot, make sure you have a fresh can of Copenhagen. Everything is easier with a big fat dip in your lip [ October 09, 2002, 06:42 PM: Message edited by: 11 Bravo ] |
