Default Plug wires

I'm looking at replacement wires. I initially thought to go with some black MSD 8.5's. I was told that they are no longer manufactured. I was then told by someone else that they were simply on back order and would be available within a week. I then searched for answers here. In the FAQ, I found:

I would be happy to go with stock or close-to-stock wires but I have a hard time believing the cost-conscious engineers and decision-makers at GM would put full-performance effort into a stock set of wires, especially considering the budget-minded nature of the F-body platform. I'm just looking to replace my stock wires and would like to upgrade if possible while keeping the stock (read: black) look. So, what has been your experience with stock/aftermarket wires?

Thanks!

Eric, I had the MSD 8.5s on my car, and they were some nice wires. One of them broke the first time I changed the plugs after installing them though. SECO didn't have any more of the MSDs in stock, and I needed them the next day so I went with the Taylor Sprio-Pro 8mm wires instead. I have changed the plugs several times with the Taylors, and haven't had any problems out of them. Both the MSDs and Taylors are great wires, but price-wise the Taylors are a little cheaper.

I bought a set of Acel 9000 wires for an ls1/ls6 and didn't end up using them with my headers..

Do you want them for 20 dollars shipped?

Let me know and they are yours.

Well, after further research, I'm thinking about going with the Crane wires. They are 25 Ohms/foot and carry a 1200° F heat resistance. They are also less expensive than other brands. While the resistance per foot isn't a huge deal with a 6 inch wire, it's just one more positive. I've used other Crane wires in the past and they performed well, so I figure for the price, they're worth a shot. Anyone tried them?
