MAFT @ stk MAF or Ported MAF
Thanks
You guys that are running a MAFT are you running a ported MAF or a stock MAF.I know the ported MAF will give a lean mixture most of the time are you using the MAFT to get the ideal A/F ratio,or are you going stock MAF and leaning out from thier.I would think the ported unit will flow air better and use the MAFT to go richer if needed.
Thanks

If you are running a M6 then I would say go ahead and port your MAF and use a MAFT to fine tune, if it's a A4 use the MAFT with the stock MAF! Ported MAF's have been linked to tranny failure in A4's, A ported MAF tricks the computer and causes a loss in line pressure for the A4's. this is what I keep hearing from everyone, maybe someone will know more about the subject of A4's and ported MAF's?
If you have a HPP3 or some kind of tuning device, you can bump up your line pressure to negate the effects of the ported MAF. The same thing is true with a shift kit since it also raises the line pressure.
I personally will use a MAFT in conjunction with a descreened stock MAF. I'm going to pull the screen out today, and when I have time, I will pull out the laptop and try to tune my car with the MAFT.
