Default NGK TR55 question

I am ordering NGK TR55's for my car from Summit. They dont list them by part number, instead they use stock numbers. I went to NGK's website and looked up the stock number for TR55 plugs and it showed 3951 being a resistor plug. When you enter that number into Summit, the same plug comes up, only it is a non-resistor plug. All other specs appear to be the same. Are these the same plugs and if so, which is correct, resistor or non-resistor.

Second question, does it really matter? I have always heard to use resistor plugs on a computer controlled car. Is that right?

I would call up a sponcer>>>>>>>>>>>> they can get you the right plugs. I always use summit as the last resort.

3951 is the correct NGK part number for a TR55. There is also a TR55IX that has a different NGK PN. NGK also sells yet another plug that they claim is a stock replacement plug (non V-power). So don't be fooled.

If you're in the Birmingham area, you can get these locally and easily. I paid $1.77 a piece at Advance Auto. Westwood Auto also carries them.
