Sounds like you may have cross thead the hole or bolt. If this is the case, you are gonna need to bust out a tap set. Problem is it may be hard to tap the hole with the engine in the vehicle. Luckily, if I do that, I have already removed my engine.

yeah I've already decided on going up and picking up a tap set after work, so I'm sure it'll all work out. I'll look for something compace enough to get to number 8 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> hate 8!

Eight point socket will take care of number 8.

Next time, take a wire brush and clean off the bolts before you re-thread them. The factory uses a sealant on them that makes it real tough to get out. '98's seem to be the worst.

Default Putting headers on and need some help.

I was putting my headers on and the bolts that I took out I put back in, but they are taking WAY too much force to get in there, so I need some ideas from you guys on what I should do. I was thinking of going up and getting a tap set and tapping the holes for a nice and clean fit and also rethread the bolts, but wanted some ideas from you guys before I went ahead and did all that. I've rethread some things before and it worked out very nicely.

Take the header off and see if the bolts with thread in to the head, with no header in the way. Could be side loading on the bolt from the header being aligned odd thats causing them to bind or crossthread?

In general, before I put headers back on, I make sure the bolts all go into the holes easily first, then I put the header on.
