Headers burning up starter?

Re: Headers burning up starter? on saturday i was having my subframes installed and when they went to move the car off the lift the car wouldnt start. Turns out that the power wire for the starter had melted on the header (MACs) and was blowing fuses. I have to get some header wrap and wrap the wire.

Re: Headers burning up starter? Chalk me in as having a burned out starter. Car had 44k miles on her, about 11k on the headers. The mechanic said it was just burned up, no wires or anything burned, just the gears in the starter itself.
