Default Help identify intake manifold

I've done a search with no help. What is intake part number 12573572? Is this an LS6 intake?

you need to look at the bottom, if its flat all the way across then its an ls6, if its curved when its an ls1 manifold with our egr.

The latest version of the 2002 LS6 intake is P/N 88894339

BTW... The P/N FAQ list on LS1.Com shows P/N 88890523 for the LS6 intake. This may be an earlier version.

Pretty sure I have an LS6 intake. It's flat on the bottom.

Part number 12573572 is cast on the manifold and part number 88894339 is on the box. Apparently after it is finish machined with the seals and bushings installed it becomes another part number. It is a non EGR version.

Looking at the manifold it doesn't appear to be much different than my stock 98 manifold. Of course you can't really measure the ports down inside but each head port opening is the same size. The outer cast tubes are slightly different. Can't say they are bigger but my floor tile pattern tool shows a tiny difference. The only significant difference is the flat surface inside under each port. My 98 is curved like the bottom so maybe that limits flow. I will find out for sure at the track. I have accurate numbers and weather conditions the last two weeks at the track. If there is a difference I'll find it!

I'm not sure from your post if you understood what they are telling you about the visual difference. You have to turn the individual manifolds upside down to look at the contour of the "bottom" of the manifolds in the area normally just above the valley cover. The stock LS1 manifold is curved and does not conform closely to the valley cover whereas the LS6 manifold is "flat" across that area and very closely matches the flattness of the valley cover.
This is where the LS6 manifold gained more plenum volume which is one of it's areas of gain over the LS1.
