Default After MACs install ????????

After installing MACs and an ORP on an 02 WS6 TA I noticed a black puff of smoke at a hard throttle launch and a lot of black soot on my dual tips so I figured I was running rich... not a problem, but a question... has anyone used the rear O2 sensors in the ORP. The MAC orp has the threaded holes, what would happen if I was to plug in the sensors without the CATS, perhaps help the rich situation or SES???

Second thing I noticed is a valve chatter, ping, detonation sound in a WOT situation higher up in the RPM band but I show NO knock retard when I run ATAP with 910-920 O2 readings and I have run 10 different runs??????

I also have put in the restrictor plates on the air tubes to keep the check valves from chattering so I don't think its them.

I am at a loss... the power seems to be there but I have the smoke and the chatter.... any thoughts would be appreciated <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The chatter is the check values. If you have the AIR tubes still you need the Air Restrictor Mod. I don't have the website (think it is riptide or something like that). Use the "search" for restrictor mod and it should be found. The black smoke is a rich running condition. Use LS1 Edit or MAFT to lean out WOT (remember to A-tap first and after).

Also, you shouold be running O2 sims for the rear O2 sensors. If not the car will start to run like ****. Need to run O2 sims with an Off-road Y pipe.

If you put the O2 sensors back in you will throw codes. It will say 'you have no cats!' <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

The threaded holes on the orp are for the front o2 sensors. LT headers have the holes in the header, but mid length Macs have it in the Y. The rear needs the O2 simms. If I'm wrong someone correct me. The smoke is probably due to runing rich.

You're Wrong <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> MACs have the front O2 sensors in the header and the rear are in the ORP. You did ask <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> I just installed them three weeks ago <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
