rattling cat...? I recently had two dynomax high flow cats installed because of the emissions test here in texas...I had removed the stockers!...anyways recently the exhaust started rattling and i thought it was a heat shield or something..it turned out to be my cat on the pass side was rattling! the guy at a muffler shop told me it was probably no good anymore!....if it is, would it hurt performance?...I got them put on in aug.

Re: rattling cat...? Depends on what's rattling. If it's the heat shield, then the cat is ok... if it's the material inside the cat.. then it's done. Only one way to find out.. get it in the air and llok at it.
As far as performance.. it could cause problems in two ways. Clogged exhaust and Knock Retard in the PCM.
