EGR question Help a dummy here.
Does EGR function all of the time? If so, seems to me that dumping hot exhaust air into the intake is diametrically opposed to keeping intake air cold as far as hp is concerned. Anyone have an idea how much hp might be gained by eliminating EGR?

Re: EGR question No, the EGR does not fuction all the time (ie. constantly dumping exhaust in the intake)... I dont know the specifics on exactly when the EGR dumps. I know the AIR usually only works on startup and until the car is warmed up, then it clicks off... dunno bout the EGR though.
