Default What size true duals do ya'll have?

Please list the diameter of the pipes in your true dual exhaust set-up. And please list why you run what you run (i.e. more displacement, blower, nitrous, etc.) Thanks.

I know that probably most people on here run 2 1/2" or 3". I'm trying to decide on wether or not I should step up from a 2 1/2" dual exhaust to a 3" dual exhaust when I get my 382 in. I've got to have the cats where I live (due to dumb-*** neighbors), so that plays a big part in it. Kinda think I should go bigger, curious about the loss of back-pressure and the effect on the very low-end.

2.5" here. I'll never make enough power to go bigger. Some say 2.5" is only good to 500-600 bhp. Don't 03-04 Cobras run 2.5" exhaust? I know they make some big power....500-600 rwhp.

Do you have a pic of how your 2.5" exhaust is connected to your headers? I just got my headers and I have a 2.5" true dual setup, but I'm trying to find how everyone is connecting the two.

I had flanges welded to the collectors and the exhaust. They bolt right up and removing the exhaust is a breeze. I also had flanges welded right behind the mufflers so I can take the under-axle sections off for maintenance or if I decide I want that sound from dumps.

Did you have it all done at an exhaust shop? I am gonna do it all in my garage, and the duals are already made, but I don't a welder. I'm thinking of having a shop weld the flanges on my headers, and then I will bolt the other flanges to them (with no exhaust on yet), then I can set the exhaust where I want it and mark the dual side flanges and dual pipes, then I can unbolt the flanges and have them welded to the duals according the marks.

All done at an exhaust shop. They did a hell of a job too. I'd take it in and have them put it together. That way there is no chance of error. It'd be done quick too.

I've had 3" before, and ground clearance was decent, just had to be careful on speedbumps. I'll probably go with 2.5" on this T/A since I lowered it, unless I get some Dr. Gas oval 3" pipe to gain some ground clearance.

Oval pipe would be real nice! That's an idea worth pursuing.

Duals with 2 1/2 inch pipes going over the axle with Noise Cancelling, straight through design mufflers at the rear, one on each side of the tub. That way I get the power of the Straight through exhaust flow but without all of that neighbor and law complaining noise.

i am running 3" with x...i went with 3" over the 2.5" simply because i will be stepping up to a VERY large cam that will benefit greatly from the scavenge effect...also, low end doesn't apply to me as i have a big stall auto.
