Default Best lid, or headers?

Anyone dynoed say a Direct FLo or MTI lid back to back? I doubt there be more than a 3 hp diff either way, but the LS1 motorsports seems smoother or better flowing judging by looks

Same on headers, anyone comparedon the same car?

I have a Direct Flo lid, and I know this has nothing to do with dyno numbers but I have a friend in Florida with an MTI lid that has began to rub the bottom of the hood leaving an unsightly mark. My direct-flo has not though. Something to think about. I personally prefer the Direct Flo. I think they are all about the same as far as gains, There was an sidebar in an article of GM High Tech Perf. Magazine a couple of months ago that had a nice blurb on lids and their gains on the dyno.

GrannySShifting,

I bought an MTI lid (clear) for the looks basically...they are comparably priced to the black lids, and make about the same power..there may be a HP or 2, but you'll never feel it...

I get more comments on my lid at the track than anything else. Its a matter of preference. Direct flow may be a little cheaper though.

One thing about my MTI lid, the fit isn't perfect...it seals up pretty good, and you probably wouldn't even notice it...nobody has said anything...there are pictures on my site (see sig)...but I'll bet you won't notice.

Go with whatever you feel is the best deal. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

Either of those lids will likely get you the same gains IMO. I have the Direct-Flo and I'm happy with it.

i have the stealth lid. only reason i like this over other lids is that its bigger, uses a bigger filter, comes with a k&n filter and smooth bellows along with alot better looking base. as far as hp is concerned, its probally the same as all the others. from what ive heard, ide stay away from the slp lid due to sealing problems but other people love them.
