If you have changed your shifter--Please Read! I am in the process of installing a Pro 5.0 on my '02 SS. Install University speaks of a "White plastic Cup", What exactly are they talking about? I have a piece that feels like rubber that looks similar to a cup--bigger at the top then at the bottom--that it is somewhat discolored. It is in the same place as the "white cup", but it doesn't just slide right out. I am I safe in assuming that I have the same thing that they are talking about? My peice is in good shape. I ran my finger around the inside feeling for cracks and it was real smooth w/ fluid on it.

Re: If you have changed your shifter--Please Read! that little white cup is not part of the shifter, it is actually pressed down into the transmission shaft. if yours is not cracked, it should be good to go.
Re: If you have changed your shifter--Please Read! I think they are speaking of the nylon bushing that the ball of the shifter sits in when it is mounted to the tranny. Those have been known on occasion to stick to the old shifter and "dissappear" or be broken from being "beat on" on a daily basis. If it is in good shape and is not cracked or broken and is still sitting in the transmission where it belongs, then add a dab of grease to the bushing, install your shifter and have fun!!!!
