Is your car a 2000 or newer? If so you could probably just get something like the SLP or G2 y-pipes which just clamp or weld up behind your stock cats. The '98 and '99 f-bodies had a more restrictive downpipe and cat on the passenger side
which complete, manifold-back y's like the Bassani, Random Tech and Mac will replace.
I like my exhaust setup a lot. Deep, throaty tone without any of the loud resonance or rasp of longtubes. Good off-idle torque due to the 1 5/8" primaries on the Hooker shorties. No ground clearance issues.
I did not dyno the impact of my y-pipe alone but I did feel a SOP benefit at higher RPM's. I can tell you, though, that the Bassani piece, though high quality stainless, was a PIA to install. It took a lot of bending and shimming to keep the collector clear of the driveshaft. Not sure they got the design exactly right. <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />
