Put the teflon tape on the npt side but not the an side it doesn't need it.

Putting tape on the AN would be a waste of time, the sealing surface is the 37 deg flare.

Don't risk getting any shreds or tiny pieces of tape inside fuel line. It will raise hell w/everything. As he said--the flare makes the seal. Always use 2 wrenches when tightening or loosening that type nut. WJ.

Ditto... Don't use anything on the AN sides of the fitting. Use some teflon paste or tape on the NPT threads.

Just be careful if you use tape, since it's possible for it to break off and go places it shouldn't be.

Looks like we may have some folks here that have aircraft experience.

There right; [No] tape on the AN fittings. Use tape on the pipe thread fittings (aluminum or otherwise).

Also, when you put the tape on the male end of the pipe thread, wrap it in the direction of rotation.

This will keep the teflon tape from "balling" up on the treads as the fitting is tightened in the normal clockwise rotation.
