In the green circle it's a "perch". It has a "C" kind of a hook molded in plastic and it's used as a holder for the map sensor.

The new sensor will be held in place by the hook that used to be a part of that circled picture.

hey, well i dont think its a necessity, The MAP sensor plugs in (where it broke off) and the piece that was still i nthe hole was in there snug so i dont think the MAP sensor really needs the holder or whatever your telling me it is. Im sure its a securing thing but my car wont need the piece to run, correct?

I don't remember my LS6 manifold, but the Weiand isn't held in by the nipple of the sensor. It needs the hold down. I guess the plastic LSx one has enough (or lack of) clearance for the slip-fit.

You'll probably be able to put the new MAP sensor in place, then run a zip tie around it to hold it on. If guys can make them stay inside the FAST manifolds with no provisions whatsoever, you should too.

This project has officially kicked your *** my friend!

haha tell me about it. First time ive had my car apart father than taking the airfilter off to clean it, haha. Almost makes me scared that i've had this many issues pulling my intake.... imagine if i tried a head/cam swap . Anyway, so far on this journey to paint my intake, it took me 5 hours to pull it off, had some tool issues and first time, then i busted the Sending unit... durrr, then shipped it out.. no probs there amazingly. Took an extra week ofr paint due to the finish of my suncoast box not holding the primer, which meant 2 week wait since it had to wait a week to ship while i was on vacation..... now UPS breaks the MAP sensor so i have to order a new one and yet wait more. AHHH. Anyway, once this gets in hopefully i can get it on without any problems and be on my way with a stylish engine bay, haha. Thanks for the help, im sure the sensor should hold fine, but i'll add a few zipties to be sure.
