Question TB question(easy one)

i picked up a throttle body that was on a 2001ss. before i make a mistake and send it out for porting i want to be 100% certain there will be no problems just switching the sensors over from my stocker and putting it on with a new gasket. i have an 00.

You don't even need a new gasket.

Make sure you get the IAC plunger's o-ring when you pull it out (top of throttle body, driverside) and install it in the new one. My car had a bit of idle surging when I swapped to a ported one, traced it back to that o-ring being MIA.

are there and if so what are the torque specs for the TB. and is there any trick i should know to get the old one off and new one on? thanks again for any help.

Make sure that the throttle blade assembly will work if you have an early model.

when taking old one off you have to remove everything up to the tb, then unplug the sensors, and hoses to get at the 3 bolts to get it off. when intsalling the new tb, just tighten the bolts til they no longer turn, don't overtighten them or you could damage the intake.

Like orange said, make sure the TB shaft cam is the same size. The 98-99, and possibly early 00's had a smaller cam so youll have too much throttle cable.

pardon my ignorance but the shaft cam is the little half moon on the side of the TB right?
