Default !FRA question...

I know how to do the mod, and I think that it definatley helps, but I'm concerned about getting water into the engine, I did the !FRA to my '98 T/A and never had any problems, but thought I would not do it to my SS because of the water issues but last week my friend did the !FRA to his Z and he picked up almost 2 mph in the 1/8 mile! I can't believe it, but I was there and my car always trapped 1 mph higher than his, now he is trapping 1 mph higher than me after doing the !FRA so I'm thinking about doing the blasted mod!

I did the !FRA and the Fast Toys Ram Air on my SS. I have not had any problems with water or rain.

I have driven my ta in hard rain with the FRA and

duct tape up the cutout under the filter to assure
no water..

No problems here either. My car is driven all year round. That includes through Michigan winters.

Did any of you guys see better MPH at the track? When I did this to my '98 T/A I did it before I ever got a base run at the track, so I don't actually know if it helped out too much. All I know is that my friend saw a good gain, I just wan't to know if it was from the !FRA?

I've been modding F-body's for 15 years and am on my 5th car, I wan't every mod to count on this car and I am keeping up with what really works and what does not, I believe the !FRA is one of the better free mods out there, I'm simply looking for some concrete evidence. Kinda like when I did the ported!MAF mod to my '98 T/A, everybody said that it works and no problems with this mod! well, it worked alright! I lost power and had some pretty serious detonation come spring. All I am asking is if there is anyone who actually saw a gain at the track with the !FRA.

Ok, I missed that part... It is probably the best Free mod.

The only thing is you have to keep an eye on your air filter because it will suck up all kinds of crap.
