oil pressure problem
oil pressure problem I'm not sure where to put this - Internal or External - so I'll post here and move it if necessary.
Anyway, today my oil pressure went crazy. My gugage is reading at the mark between the 40 and 80 so my guess is that would be 60 (good conclusion huh). The problem is that it is staying at this level almost continuously even when the clutch is let out. It drops to say just below the mark when in neutral, but not to the usual 40 reading that I typically get when in neutral. When I accelerate the reading goes all the way up to 80 even under light acceleration. I know the pressure goes up when accelerating, but it didn't use to max out under those conditions.
What could be the cause of this? I just checked the oil level and it is fine - checked it yesterday as well and it was fine then to. I haven't done anything to the car in the last day so I don't know what could be the problem.
