Problems starting car, anyone have any ideas?

Problems starting car, anyone have any ideas? The other night driving in the rain, part of the road sunk in like a huge pothole about 10" deep, drove right over it at about 45 mph. Scared the crap out of me cause it hit pretty hard, parked my car then went to start it and it cranked and didnt start..turned off the radio and the lights and cranked it again and it just barely started...then had a hard time finding idle. I thought it was just because it was too cold and my cam (224/224) had a hard time trying to find idle. Ive never had the car in cold weather since the heads/cam swap so I didnt know if this is normal. Every now and then I have problems starting the car..usually when it has been sitting a while. Its too tricky for me to figure out since theres a lot of variables..cold weather/hitting the dip/electrical problem in the rain/problem with the cam. Any ideas what would cause this?
