Best way to quiet down exhaust??

Best way to quiet down exhaust?? I currently have Hooker shorties, full cats, SLP Y-pipe, and Y2Y dual-dual. The car is very quiet, w/ a nice burble to it.
I have been offered a great deal on coated MAC headers & ORY, w/ fake cats welded onto the pipe. I'm worried that the exhaust is going to be a lot louder, & am wondering how I can quiet it down.
Is there a baffle, internal resonator, or vortex tube I can insert into the pipes to quiet them down a bit, or will I have to weld in a bullet muffler? If I go w/ a bullet, where should I weld it in?

I would just put some high flow cats in and it shouldn't be that much louder than what you have now, Maybe some random technology cats, or something to that effect, but DO NOT go with MAC cats, they suck...oh and when you are done you can send me your hooker shorties, heck I'll even pay the shipping... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> But seriously if the shorties will fit a 2000 let me know if you might wanna sell em, keep in mind I am a broke college student though

A few questions:
The I-pipe goes between the Y-pipe and the cat-back inlet, right? Where do you weld the bullet in? Are there any fitment or clearance issues?
What size is the bullet? The I-pipe is 2-3/4", isn't it? How long is the bullet?
Know any sponsors that sell the bullets?

Re: Best way to quiet down exhaust?? Already answered some of the questions --- I found the Dynomax bullets in my Summit catalog. They are 16-1/2" long, and come in 2-1/2" in/out. They're cheap, too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Best way to quiet down exhaust?? The Y-pipe I'm considering to buy already has two cutouts. The Dynomax bullet sounds like the right solution, just need to figure out where to put it.

Re: Best way to quiet down exhaust?? I just put a set of Random Tech stainless bullet cats in my MAC Y pipe (flow 560 cfm ea)and kept the Dynomax bullet muffler on the I pipe and it sounds great. It's even tolerable with the electric cutout open.
