True duals topic beaten to death again!

Default True duals topic beaten to death again!

This topic has been beaten to death and Lord knows that I have done my share of the beating. But, there are just some things that I hav just got to know before I made some mods. Who has a true dual system installed with an X pipe. How much hp were you packing before the duals were installed and what did you dyno after?

I have a 2002 Camaro SS with the 345hp package and I plan to add SLP headers with an X pipe, CAI, and true dual. But I was told that I coulc lose torque because I had to have at least 400hp at the flywheeel for true duals to get any noticable gain.

Is this true? Should I just go ahead and install the Y pipe that comes with the headers? I am truely confused. :eek

Go with the X pipe your ears will thank you for it. Dont believe you will lose power but the gain will be small if any.

I have parts for the X pipe in the mail because it makes more power and i cant stand the sound of the headers and loudmouth together anymore. Plus it wont stop rattling. I stopped it for a day but then it comes back so i have to tighten it up every other day.

I actually gained low end torque. My 60fts improved from 1.68 to a 1.64 and gained 2 tenths over 3" y pipe and Flowmaster catback. I'm running 3" duals,xpipe,bullet mufflers on a bolt-on only Z28.
