Fram, K&N, or Powershot?

Fram, K&N, or Powershot? Hey guys, is it absolutely neccessary for me to spend $50 some bucks on a filter or could I just go with a Fram which I'm assuming is cheaper for my newly acquired Direct-Flo lid? What would be the best fitting Fram filter(product number) for my 99 Z and where can I find one?

Re: Fram, K&N, or Powershot? My advice is to stay with the paper. If you just have to spend some money, get the Holley-no crappy gasket{I needed more than the supplied gasket to get a good seal} and it might flow a bit better than the K&N I think{has more filter area}.
Either way{K&N or Holley} I don't see a gain in mph when swapping at the track vs the paper. When I take the filter out, I consistantly see .5 to 1mph.

Re: Fram, K&N, or Powershot? I would stay away from the oiled filters and go with the FRAM. When I put on my ported TB and de-screened 85mm MAF there was oily residue all over the TB and tubing <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> . I had never re-oiled the filter, this is the way it came from K&N.
