Missing at WOT! Plug Gap/Wires Ok??? Help!?!

Missing at WOT! Plug Gap/Wires Ok??? Help!?! Ok, I just got done installing my Hooker LTs and true dual exhaust a few days back, and now that I've got some miles on the setup, I decided to find a deserted road and run a quarter.
Here's my problem; under load, the engine starts missing once I get about 70%+ into the throttle (runs fine under normal driving conditions). At first I'd thought it was related to the upper rpms, but it seems more directly related to how much I'm into the throttle.
When I installed the headers, I went with the NGK TR55's and a set of Jacob's 8.5mm wires (bought second hand off the board). I installed the TR55's as they came from the factory, gapped at .060 (verified the gap before I installed them).
Should I have gapped them differently? Also, has anyone had any problems using aftermarket wires?
Any help would be appreciated. I don't have Autotap yet, and before I invest almost $300 in it, I kinda want to make sure I've checked everything else first.
