MAC Header install
MAC Header install Do the Mac's go on easy, or are they a bear to install? Any tips appreciated.('02 SS A4) Thanks. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: MAC Header install Mine was problem free. Take off coils,emmissions(EGR,AIR tubes),and valve covers. They come in from the top with no problem and the stock ones come out through the bottom with cats on. Just have to get the front of the car really high. Also for the back passenger side bolts I like to get up in the engine compartment and put the right knee on the intake and the left knee on the radiator support. You can reach everything really easy. You will need a 1/4 drive rachet for the header/coil bolts.

Re: MAC Header install I got both sides from the bottom. Drivers side went in easy. Passenger side the casting block got caught in the primary tube and took some muscle and a pry bar to torque the engine to get it in.
Re: MAC Header install do everything the other members said, but you might have raise the motor up buy loosing up the motor mounts to get them in there. some guys also wrap their header in plastic so they dont get scraped up with installing them.
if you need plugs and wires its now a good time to change those too.

Re: MAC Header install I've got a '98 and did mine from the bottom. I had access to a lift so it wasn't so bad. I also had to grind off that aggrivating casting block on the passenger side.

Re: MAC Header install i got a 00 i put the drivers side in from the bottom and the passanger side in from the top with the coil pacs and valve covers off. me and zshark did his 98 the same way.
