Tips for starter replacement?

Tips for starter replacement? Going to do it over the next few days, whenever I can find some spare time. Just looking for any tips or things one should be aware of. I found a couple posts on this by searching and they seemed to indicate it would be a piece of cake. TIA for any input.

I am pretty sure this is what happened to mine, lately I've been having to shove a cane down there to knock it around and it will eventually start up <img border="0" alt="[jester]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_jest.gif" />

Re: Tips for starter replacement? Alex, actually I believe it is heat from the passenger-side turbo that got to it. I got the starter from Valvegod (Shaun Carter) here on the board. I haven't ordered the heat shield yet...still working on that.
