Default SLP ram air thingy?

I was flipping through summit and saw the SLP cold air induction package separate from the whole lid and everything. I was wondering if this is worth it. I know it draws cold air up which should help some but what kind of #'s on the 1/4 can I see. I've read .2 and 2 mph but that sounds too good to be true. If it is I will spend the $117. I already have the lid and k&n. Also anyone have a pic of this installed on your car? Thanks

yeah they are worth it. but not the slp unit cause its not a true forced air system. other like the ssra and ftra are...so go with either one of those.

I used to have that in my car before I got my new ram air . It helped out alittle. Thats the only slp mod I was happy with. I would get it again if I was doing it all over. Also the more free flowing mods you do the more it will help. Check out fast toys they make one as well might be cheaper.

Also check out the SSRA Super Sucker Ram Air/Austin Ram Air. I have one of those and it's awesome.

another vote for the slp ram air, I think that was my second mod, and still would buy it again if I had to do it over, unlike there shitty lid that rubs on the hood.

I have one and it works great. It also sounds great. My car has a SLP H.O hood with the baffles cut out and a sealed lid and the thing sounds like a supercharger cause of how it sucks in air

Now does this ram air setup SSRA block some air going to the condensor and radiator?? It looks like it might. Other than that I am convinced to buy one. Also what about driving in the rain. Yay or Nay?

in a way it does but its fine.

the ftra has a block off plate for the rain...others have gone through storms and not had any problem.

question.. the The Fast Toys RAM AIR system is just the bottom part right?. i still should get an aftermarket air lid also correct? if so that should be a good combo.

Yep, the FTRA is only the bottom, get a lid as well.

The way the SSRA/Austin Ram Air is shaped it moves away from the radiator, unlike what I'm told with the Fast Toys. I have heard of a few who have the FTRA say their cars run hotter, though most dont, but I haven't heard of one person complain about a temp increase with an SSRA (not that you would with the 99+ cars having gauges that are anything but accurate).
As far as water, I have yet to hear of someone sucking water as well, but I'd still watch where I drove as far as huge puddles. Either the FTRA or SSRA will work, I just felt the SSRA would suck cooler air and liked the fact it sat farther away from the radiator's air path.
Both have been proven to knock around .2 off your ET and add around 2mph. Above 50mph you can feel a noticable difference.

Heres a quick example.
I was running between a 13.4-13.5 at 105-106mph and i did plugs wires and the ssra and i jumped to betwen 13.3-13.4 at 107-108mph roughly something like that, i think the ssra helped on the top end more than anything. Only thing you have to worry about but i never had a problem with is picking up water but ive never heard of anybody having a problem with that most guys dont drive in the rain anyways. I liked it.

I felt a difference with the SSRA (maby in my head?), but I ripped the bottom half off leaving subway one night. I still have the top piece though.

The guy who came up with them offered to sell me another one for like $70 or so, but I'm too scared to rip it off too.
