Default Stealth Air Box

Has anyone tired the Sealth Air Box? Is there a noticable difference over the airbox in the 2002 F-bodies?

YES! I am so glad i got it over the ordinary lid. It bolts on in ten minutes. Right when i took it out, there was a huge differnce. There is much better throttle response, and you can feel it throw you back in you seat more. (This was when my car was stock)
I say get it. For the money, it doesnt get much better.

I have the 345hp package that is suppose to have a high flow airbox. Do you think that the Stealth is superior to that?

ya because it uses a much larger air filter(the big c5 vette one i thnk) and is capable to take in more air. I am looking at the stock k&n box,and the stealth k&n and you see a HUGE differnce. Plus withthe stealth it comes with one so you dont have to go and buy it from somewhere else.
"Uses largest K&N panel filter available. 370% more exposed filter area than stock . Computer designed for maximum air flow. Direct bolt-on, absolutely no modifications to vehicle. Takes 10 minutes to install. Fits any 1998 to 2002 F-body . Models to fit V6 or V8. Fits under any factory hood. Factory appearance. Injection molded. Solid construction, as durable as factory. All stainless steel hardware included."

SS Dude I have the 345 hp package on my 02 SS as well. The Lid that came with that package flows better than stock but not as well as the SLP aftermarket High Flow Lid. This is due to the fact that the 20 HP package Lid has an oval opening and a rubber adaptor so the lid will hook directly up to the MAF Sensor. If you take your 20 HP Lid off and look at the opening that connects to the MAF you will see what I'm talking about. The SLP Lid has a full circular opening thus more air can be pulled in by the engine thereby making more HP. I've looked at the Stealth Air Box and have considered getting one but for right now I'm happy with my SLP Lid, SLP MAF, SLP Smooth Bellows, and K&N Filter.

Thanks. This is very interesting. It looks like I'm going to get a new lid but I do not know which one. It will be with Stealth or SLP. Hum. Its good to have a choice.

i went 6 hundredths quicker with the steath lid over my 345 hp package lid.its a nice piece but it doesnt seal without the filterand the front clips came off w/o the filter in place . ive modified mine alot to work with a FTRA and i made a panel in the front that seals the front of the air box w/ dzus fasteners when i race it and took another airfilers seal to make it seal when i dont use the filter. to me its worth $300 due to what you get in the kit.

How do you guys feel about the MAF placement and angle with this kit? The MAF is in an odd position to the oval opening in the back of the lid where is doesnt line up in the least. It is also at a steep angle to the Throttle Body because of the new raditaor shrowd.
I have one and am very skeptical about what is happening with the MAF..

I dont like the fact that the lid cannot be secured without the filter.

I also dont like how the space between the radiator and condensor is open, but that can be sealed up.

I've yet to track test this thing so I still have room to like the Stealth airlid setup.

The WS6 lower already has twice the open area... best to pop out the baffles in the hood and use it as a true ram air.
