Default Skip shift plug-in not working all the time....

My buddy ordered the skip shift for his M6. We disconnected his battery,, plugged in the skip shift,, connected the battery,, and now for some reason it doesn't work all the time... Is it defective or is there something else we should do????????????

Does it still force the shifter into 4th, you may have put it on the reverse solenoid instead of the cags solenoid
If the light still flashes, it'll do that anyway, the light will flash, but the solenoid won't work.
Check the resistor with an ohm meter 2.2k is what you should read, tap it and wiggle it around to see if there is intermittent contact

Check out http://installuniversity.com/install...sity/index.htm, then click on install documents, then click on !CAGS: $0.50 Radio Shack resistor. It shows the resistance you can check for.

I've had the "$0.50 resistor" plugged into mine for over 2 years with no problems. I actually got it for free........ with a spare.....

I bought th eactual cags eliminator and had the dealership install it when the were doing some work for me. It has been on almost 2 years now, and no problems at all. I think you put it on the wrong solenoid, just switch it to the other connector down there.

I have had mine on for 3 mos with no prob. I didn't unplug the battery when I put mine on. Must have missed that part in the instructions. Light still comes on but car shifts whatever gear I want.

I tried to get autoshop to put mine on when they were putting my tires on, and he told me it was a $15,000 fine if he did it. Interesting.
