MAF ends?
MAF ends? I feel dumb for posting this, but can anyone tell me if I could see any gains by putting in an aftermarket MAF end? I have an 85mm SLP MAF sensor, but all of the MAF ends I've seen are 75mm .. wouldnt that restrict air coming in, since it would be going from an 85mm opening to a 75mm? MAF ends are usually bought instead of an aftermarket MAF sensor such as the Granetelli(Sp) or the SLP like the one you have. The MAF ends are larger than the stock ends so you might gain a little bit but maybe not as much as you would with buying an entire aftermarket MAF sensor.
I have TR MAF ends and I did notice a difference in size fromt he stock one. I have never seen SLP MAF sensor so I couldnt tell you how they compare.

Re: MAF ends? I also have the Thunderracing MAF ends. I saw a 10hp gain. The SLP 85mm didn't do much for me but keep my SES light on. For some reason my PCM just didn't like it much. With the MAF ends also it basically de-screens the MAS. I haven't seen any ends for the SLP unit. It all depends on how your car reacts to different changes. Good luck!

I picked up 8 RWHP with just the plastic ends but almost doubled the throttle response,This is the way to go unless you start increasing engine size.You won't have to worry about setting codes wich is experienced by many who do the SLP MAF and it takes about 10 minutes to install !Hell some cars are going mid 11's on the stock MAF!
