Fuel Rail Surge Damper mod question????

Fuel Rail Surge Damper mod question???? What does the mod entail? I dont plan on changing the stock configuration of the rail or lines at this time but was wondering if their are any benefits to modding the surge damper itself. I have it removed and the restriction is visibly obvious. I know that ARE replaces it with a billet piece, but would gutting the stock piece be sufficient? Also, is anyone aware of any fuel distribution issues after gutting it? (Such as more flow on Bank 1 vice Bank 2 due to the inlet being closer to B1). Any info is appreciated. I have done many searchs here and cant find too much info. Thanks.

Re: Fuel Rail Surge Damper mod question???? I just took a hacksaw and cut off about a blade's width from the inside surface so the spring and the plastic piece could come out. Smoothed it down and reinstalled it after using a Dremel tool to open up the restriction in the fuel rail itself. Haven't noticed any problems will differences in bank to bank rich/lean at all.
