Default sealing airbox......????

I have a regular Z28 with the regular hood...would it be good or better to seal the bottom of the airbox???....I see alot of SS hoods with the airbox sealed but would it matter...supposedly if you seal the bottom of the airbox...the incoming air is forced into the induction system making it better since the incoming air won't have nowhere to go but up into the induction system......would it make a difference.....i have the FRA! and i cut out alot of the radiator plastic to give it more air....

Hmm, it seems that if you do look at it and look at how it works and everything it seems like it would give it a boost, it shouldnt matter f its an SS or not. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I need to seal my airbox now that you mention it. There is a gap between my lower air box and my MTI lid in the back.

To answer your question...yes, you should seal your airlid. Just use weatherstripping. You won't see any performance gains really. It will prevent unfiltered air from getting into the MAF, TB, intake, etc....especially if your MAF is descreened.

My 2 cents only...

Maybe i didn't explain it right...I was talking about the front of the lower airbox....the opened factory gap that sits below the airbox......not the lid.....my clear lid is sealed with weatherstripping already therefore it fits snug tight without any gaps....i was asking if it would help sealing that space off?.....I see some SS cars who have done it...but would it matter if doesn't have an SS hood?......would it help????
