--since we dont have a section dedicated to tools-- I went with my mom christmas shoping today and saw a pretty kick *** looking jack. The box said that it was a racing jack (NASSCAR style) and all this other stuff. The weight limit on it was 3000 pounds, and F-bodies are 3600. My question is would it be smart to get that jack. When I do get my car off the ground I put it on jack stands and lifting one corner of the car I know isnt 3600 pounds. I really want to get this jack cause it looks so convienent(sp) cause its low to the ground witch means i dont have to drive my car on 2x4's just to fit a jack under it, what should I do <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

You'll never put the entire wieght of your car on the jack all at once. At least I can't imagine any scenario where you even could. Lifting the entire front of the car would only put about 50-60% of your car's weight on the jack in my estimation. That is the heaviest part of the car.

Re: --since we dont have a section dedicated to tools-- unless your car is slammed to the ground any jack should fit under it with out driving up on 2x4's but yea a 3000 pound lift jack will be fine.
