Default Fan Switch Problem

I hooked up a fan switch the other day as described on the LS1.com mod site. I'm gettting an SES light and I'm wondering if I did anything wrong. I only did the low speed fan, not the high speed. According to that site, I should only be getting the light if I do the high speed switch.

Everything works fine, and the SES light doesn't seem to affect the way the car runs, but it's annoying.

Any way to wire around this or fix it.
Thanks

I'm not sure how the LS1 mod is done, but I did this mod and haven't had any trouble with SES...

I hooked up both the high and low speed fans to come on with a switch. I only get an SES light if i turn the fans on more then once every three ignition cycles. I know the SES light is annoying, but its harmless in this case.

the reason why the SES will sometimes set even when only turning on the low speed fans manually is because the PCM does circuit tests from time to time. When you ground pin42/green wire which goes to the low speed fan relay, the PCM will interpret that as a short to ground and set the SES.
There is a way around it, I have a schematic of what you need to do on my webshots page, see sig. What you have to do is fool the computer into thinking the relay hasn't been turned on when you do it, and it involves two diodes and two extra resistors, about $4 in parts from radio shack. Unless you avoid the relay side and switch the fans on by sending 12V power to them directly, you will get stuck with an SES light otherwise. I've been running this since last July and it has never set the SES no matter how you operate the fans, hope this helps.
