hooker headers LT

hooker headers LT i called a speed shop and asked them about hooker LTs on a mostly stock TA and they told me if i get them i would loose most of my bottom end torque.
is this credible or are they just trying to get me to buy a more expisve header?
if anyone has a set up like myself what kind of affect did it put on the car

You'll lose some low end torque with any headers. However, the hooker LT's are a great header, and you'll gain more power throughout the entire rpm band as well as peak. They'd be a good investment.
