Default Jethot vs Hooker headers...

Jethots, posed to be built better.

Hooker coated still arent going to rust thru.

Jethots are eavier because of heavier tubing...

Which seem to fit better?

Not sure which fit better Granny, but reading the lit on JH's and talking with them, they moved the O2 bungs inboard so you dont need the extensions. That alone would be enough for me, but top it off with how many people have had to have their Hookers rewelded and recoated, no comparison. The JH's are basically built off the Hooker design, they listened to all the complaints and addressed them by making a higher quality header, I'll be ordering mine about New Years @ $540 shipped to the door.

Charlie.

Not saying Jet-Hot sucks or anything (I love their coatings), but their headers are worse than Hookers. Their's are based on (maybe made by) Hooker LTs. Positioning the O2 inboard is a (IMHO) stupid idea. You still need the O2 extension. I have installed 2 sets of Hookers and 1 set of Jet-Hot. Jet-Hot didn't even supply the O2 extensions. They should have rotated the O2 bung down from where Hooker has them, not 180 degrees. Just give more clearance for the O2s, and not risk crossing over the primaries. The air-tubes is another issue, they just drilled the holes, not OEM tapped threads. You need to buy nuts for the bottom side, rather than being able to use the OEM setup (EGR plate is the same way). Those are my gripes about Jet-Hot's headers (vs. Hooker). I'd rather install Hookers over Jet-Hots.

Quality wise my Hookers blew goats.

O2 bung so badly misaligned the O2 couldn't be screwed in.
Several primaries with lot's of slag
Flange wasn't flat
1/4 gap because Hooker couldn't be bothered to actually do the welding. Compressed air blew thru.
Hooker puts the O2 where it will rub

I would not purchase LS1 Hooker headers again.

Jet-hot and Hooker headers are the exact same tube design. The 02 bungs and such may be placed different, but the header design itself is the exact same...Cheap Longtube LS1 headers are usually going to have problems, if you want good quality pay 750 bucks and buy the tried and true Grotts..
