It's really a heat synch (transferring heat to the PCV valve) rather than an electrical ground.

Re: PCV Ground Ya know, I was in there cleaning as usual and I noticed a little bit of moisture in the PCV valve but I didnt even give it any thought that the braided wire was for heat sink to keep PCV from freezing.
