Well...by looking half way down your directions...it looks like youre gonna have to take the intake manifold off. Im certainly not going to do that for a pcv swap, especially after Ive already done it when swapping to the LS6 intake. Thanks though for your help. Do you know any other way to do it? Is there any other way to upgrade or improve the stock system?

To Fenris Ult: Is what you do all the time... Read the threads and respond to them by being rude and acting like smartass to the people who want to learn and know something. I have read several of your replies and it seems that youre nothing but a big smartass. You dont help out a bit, you just give people a hard time. If you are replying to help out thats one thing, but if youre doing it to criticize and give people a hard time, maybe you need to go somewhere else with your smartalleckness. By the way, it doesnt take 10 mins to take off the intake. Ive done it before and it didnt happen that fast. I just dont feel that its worth taking off the intake to do a pcv swap.

As I suggested above I personally like the SMH mod: http://www.fbody.com/members/stevenm...ML/pcv_mod.htm On that website is the guy's e-mail address. E-mail him and he can tell ya about an oil/air separator that will also work. Also try
installuniversity.com for a similar filter mod. Good luck.

I don't think Fenris is being a smartass at all. The bottom line is that if you want to modify your LS1s PCV system to LS6 specs, the intake NEEDS to be removed. It's as simple as that....
In fact, Fenris Ulf has shared LOTS of very good info in the past. Thats a fact....

Here is another very good source of info which includes many pics of the swap:

Here is a list of parts. I can't verify whether or not they are acurate:

Valley Cover, PN 12568002, $42, (includes cover, bolts & gaskets)

Valve Cover Plugs, PN 12568011 (drivers side), $3, (pass. side - use plastic vacuum cap from auto parts)

Pipe with PCV Valve, PN 12568010, $45, (PCV valve and tube that goes from the valley to the TB)

Tube, PN 12556454, $3, (tube that connects the pass. valve cover to the TB)

Thanks Bosco.. In fact, I just changed the P/N above.
Wonder if the other ones I show are correct?

Thanks for the backup Kimchee.

Onebadass: no I was not trying to be a smartass. As far as the "You dont help out a bit, you just give people a hard time" comment, why don't you scroll up to the top of this thread and check out the very first reply. OMG!

Sorry you took it the wrong way, but this is how I see it. Pulling the intake manifold is a rather simple procedure. Get some mechanics gloves or whatever so that stupid cowl doesn't cut the **** out of the backs of your hands, remove the fuel line, unplug the fuel injectors, disconnect the brake booster line AT the brake booster rather than trying to wiggle it off the back of the manifold, pop off the one little vacuum line on the back of the intake, pull of your bellows and box from the from the throttlebody but leave the throttlebody on the intake, 8 little 8 mm bolts and the intake is off! Not hard at all, and yes it can take 10 mins if you know what you are doing.

IMO, the LS6 valley is a great way to go and is worth the time and effort to install unless you have a pre 2001 block. Hope this helps.

Back when I did this that part was like $62!

Fenris Ulf: Hey I wanted to apologize to you. I guess I did take it the wrong way. Anyhow, thanks for your help. I have a 2000 SS...you said that its worth the time and work unless you have a pre 2001 motor. Why would it be a bad idea or a waste of time for my car. Thanks

You will have to grind quite a bit of metal from the valley in order to clear the cover. At one point in time I had a 2000 block in my car and I had to do this. Just make sure you use lots of shop towels (cover the cam, use packaging tape over the intake ports and anywhere else metal shavings would not be welcome) and wear eye protection, get a good aluminum grinder and be careful. I will snap some pics of one of my old blocks for reference on where to grind.

I have the LS6 pcv system on my car.

Perhaps ask our GM sponsor parts@sdpc2000.com for a parts list.

I think my consumption is pretty low.

Does any of the sponsors carry a LS6 pcv kit? How much are they? If not, do you know where I can get good prices on all the stuff need to convert over? Is it worth the money and time? If I wasnt wanting to grind on the block, would the mod thats out there be my only choice? thanks
