Header gasket question Are you guys using the old gaskets or new paper gaskets that come with the pacesetter LTs. Do the headers come with new bolts incase you break one off. Also do you need a torque wrench for header and LS6 manifold install(I believe inch-lbs -there is a tool sale going on now in my area).
don't use the paper ones, they will leak. either reuse the stock gaskets or get some new ones. i reused the stock bolts when i did mine. when torquing down the headers, start from the middle out. 11 ft/lbs the first time, then 18 ft/lbs for the final settings.
For the gaskets, I bought new GM ones. For the bolts, I used the new ones that came with my pacesetters. The new bolt head is bigger than the old stock one. Torque them down from the middle out and start with 11lbs, then again at 18lbs. I did this last week, and it worked great, no leaks. Good Luck.
