Ramchargers posted this a few months ago. They were looking into making a quality engine torque strap. Has anyone heard anything more about this? I am in Korea, so I have not really had the opportunity to call them on the phone about this. I did, just send them an e-mail. Hopefully he will answer it.
I think you folks that use FLP headers (BANGING) all could benifit from a quality torque strap.
Anyone use anything that is a clean install and effective?
Thanks,
Ron

It's placed and tightened up between the drivers side of the engine and the frame. It keeps the engine from lifting up (torque effect) on the drivers side.
Some are made with a metal rod, but these introduce vibrations in the car. With that type, the engine cannot move at all. Not a good idea.
The best ones are like I discribed above, which is made from a strong heavy nylon strap.
You will find these used on at least 90% of all modified Buick GNs. Thats a fact.
Ron,
Even back in the late 50s early 60s, they sometimes would install a steel chain which would do the same basic thing. Old versions of the "torque strap" go back a long long way. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
<strong> Well, I don't know how "intriguing" a torque strap can be, </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I would like to discuss this further over a sparkling clear bottle of spring water, Ron. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Intriguing... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
