LS6 INTAKE PICS You tell me if it is real, it has 12573572 on it. I know that this is not the correct part number, I called GM and they said it was a casting number. It has August 2002 stamped on the date grid on bottom. I need to know if it is a LS6. Also what will i need to do to install it to my car, will i need to eliminate the egr or is it better to keep it and just add the opening.
Also can someone post the pics for me??? I hate cpus and don't know how.

Re: LS6 INTAKE PICS An LS6 intake is flat across the bottom. I think that is one way to tell. The one sitting in my garage is that way. I don't think an LS1 is flat. I could be wrong though. An LS6 intake wouldn't be ready for EGR (Unless someone alreay modified it).

Re: LS6 INTAKE PICS Never heard of a LS1 intake without EGR provisions. The 01 and 02 Camaros didnt have an EGR because they were equipped with a LS6 intake. That is definately a LS6 intake. Its flat on the bottom and has no EGR hole. Im pretty darn sure because I did my own swap on my 2000 SS. The LS1 had a wave on the bottom and the new one (LS6) was flat. Re: LS6 INTAKE PICS OK, a few of you are right, the 01 and newer F-bodies did not have egr, and did have the LS6 intake, but that is purely coincidental, any 97/98/99/00 C-5 Vette's have the standard LS1 intake, but none of them have EGR provisions, so there are LS1 intake that were not made with the EGR hole, so you can't rely solely on that, but looking at your picture, you can tell that the bottom plenum of your intake is indeed flat like the LS6 due to the increased plenum volume, congrats you gotta LS6! It's easier to see and compare once you take your stock LS1 off and see them two side by side.

Another way to tell is from the top. If you look at these flashing marks that I have roughly outlined, the LS6 has a radius bend.
