Since my motor isn't back in yet, I was thinking about changing over to the ls6 pcv system.
my car has the old 1999 pcv set-up. I will be using a LS6 intake.
what all is needed?
any sites with pics?
Part #'s?
cost to change completely over?
worth doing?

Yes, there is a piece to remove. I'm not having luck recalling the website with a description. Try this: http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/acer...me1Source1.htm

viper
does the piece that needs removed have to make contact with the valley cover? or just take it down far enough for the cover to lay flat?

If you look at Viper's link, the fifth picture down, that shows the underside of the LS6 valley cover, its the tube that runs on the bottom side of it that runs right where you need to grind down.

I got the valley cover installed.
where does the pvc hose coming out of the valley cover connect to? to the tb? plug both valve covers?
or does the pass. side valvecover vent still goto the tb?

12568010 PCV Pipe Assay LS6
12568011 Driver's side PCV Plug for 2001-2002 LS6
12556454 tube that connects the pass. valve cover to the TB
I didn't need these parts. I reused my PCV valve, and used a foot of 3/8" hose. I didn't need the plug for the valve cover either, I just used a rubber cap.
I got away with only spending $47 for the whole conversion.

The only part you really need to order is the valley cover itself. GM parts direct sells it for $37.18...I can reuse my pcv valve, and just buy a 90 degree connector from Pep Boys for a couple bucks...$45 tops for the job.

Actually, the line comes out of the valley cover into the pcv valve then into the manifold, not into the TB. The tube from the valve cover goes to the TB for fresh air. But I capped that off and I'm running a breather cap where my oil filler cap used to be. This way fresh air goes through that instead.

the new ls6 valley cover outlet connects to the pcv valve and hose that then connects to the manifold. ( I didn't notice anywhere to connect the pvc hose to the manifold)
the drivers side rocker cover gets plugged.
?right?

Yep, the driver side gets plugged. On our stock LS1 setup the pcv valve connects to a little rubber piece then to the manifold behind the TB. Well you leave the pcv valve in its stock location except the other end of the pcv valve connects to the LS6 valley cover instead of the passenger side valve cover. Hope that helps. It should cut down on pulling oil in the intake manifold...Basically the engine is being vauumed down from the valley cover instead of the valve cover..But the hose going to the TB to the valve cover provides the fresh air into the crankcase like an LS1 setup.
