Default Exhaust Question

I'm trying to decide between a Borla and a Dual/Dual system. I want something quite but still sounds decent. Any advice/sounds bites of either system wounld be appreciated. I have shorty headers, ORY with no cats. Thanks

I have never liked the Borla. They make nice systems, but those fugly tips don't go, too busy. The dual dual is a great exhaust but it is quiet.

I have the dual dual, shorties, with cats and I am very happy with it. Going to add a nice y-pipe, that will open it up just a bit more. Plus it is on a Convertible so I don't want it loud.

A friend of mine has Borla on his car and it sounds good no matter which plate he has in it but the tips are all crooked and look like ***. I figure if you want the same effect buy a cut-out because that's basically what the Borla is.

I'm not sure that Dynomouth is what you are looking for by your description of what you want... but you might check page 2 of my website and check it out. Pics, sound clips, and general info are all there.
The exhaust is quiet at idle and just tooling around, but it does scream if you romp on it.
The best way to describe it is: It is the exhaust that you control the volume with the throttle. (more so than other systems anyway)
Good luck
Dave

Take a look into the Magnaflow exhausts. Or, just install a Magnaflow muffler, your 2.85" stock SS stainless exhaust piping is really just fine to keep using unless your getting up over 500rwhp or so and really need the extra flow, or if you are running a turbo setup which is rare on the fbody cars. Magnaflow is relatively quiet at any normal RPM and gives a nice deep idle and low RPM response, not too noisy at all, yet will get loud enough under WOT at high RPM's when you want it too, it's a real nice compromise, and the Magnaflow mufflers flow real good as well. Check them out...

I almost bought the Borla, but had a hard time getting vaule out of the stainless.
Went with the Hooker for about 1/2the price and very pleased with it.
Sounds good not to loud, fits good and went in very easy.

I've got a borla and I'm very happy with it... though if I had to do it over again I'd have kept the stock exhaust and put a cutout on it....

I've heard a borla exhaust wide open, on a heads/cam/header car before... it scared unsuspecting people (loud!) ... but sounded very nice.

IMHO get a cutout and a McCord power plate <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
